Day 7 of #milliebotsbookchallenge : Favorite Female Protagonist. Finally! This was hard to narrow down.
Sarah from The Little Princess. She’s very different from the films. She is a strong storyteller. 👑
Amalthea/The Unicorn from The Last Unicorn. I absolutely love this book. It’s one of my top favorites. I am a unicorn. 🐚🎠
Pippi Longstocking. She is so awesome, she inspires me. 👖
The Little Mermaid. I love that she goes against her kind, her selfless love. 🌊
Gerda from The Snow Queen. She is determined and devoted. ❄
Matilda. Talented and unappreciated, she stays true to herself and triumphs. 📚
Karana from Island of the Blue Dolphins, survivalist. 🐬
Julie of Julie of the Wolves, one of my childhood favorites. 🐺🐕
The Lisbon sisters especially Cecilia from The Virgin Suicides. 🌳
I also love Wendy Darling/Tinkerbell from Peter Pan, Mary from The Secret Garden, Felicity from the American Girl series, Hermione and Luna from Harry Potter, Cinderella, Anne of Green Gables, and too many others to name. Yay for great females in literature!
#Beauty. Excerpt from Pink Smog by @dangerousangelena 🍃
"And you a lady, never". 🎀🎩🌊 #peterpan #bookquote
Ooo a light up cloud! So cute 😊☁✨#fromageiscool
It was National Moth Week, and I started reading a book about a girl named Moth! 😮👀📖
Day 6 of #milliebotsbookchallenge: Favorite Male Protagonist. This was hard because I am extremely picky about male characters in books (and life hehe). They’re always extremely flawed in ways that are often hurtful. Therefore my #1 favorite male protagonist is Jesus Christ from the Holy Bible, the only perfect man who has ever lived 💖🙏
I also included Peter Pan, who fascinates me but he is a complex character who can be cruel.
Winter from Pink Smog
Dickon and Colin from The Secret Garden
Jeffrey from The Penderwicks
Bod from The Graveyard Book
Le Petit Prince
Harold and the Purple Crayon
Lex and West from Wasteland
Chris and Corey from Flowers in the Attic
There are definitely more that I could include from children’s books.
Spotted Pumbaa at Walmart 😋
I haven’t done a #wcw in a while, and I really want to write about this character; Leeloo, aka ‘Leeloominaï Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat’. 😉 She is from Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element. 🌀🌐🔥💧💢 I watched the film finally when I was 21. What I love about her character is that she’s portrayed as childlike. The concept of an element in human form, also the concept of a ‘perfect woman’, are intriguing to me. It is annoying how her character is exploited, but she was still my favorite part of the film. The scene where she falls into the taxi cab is one of my favorites in cinema. 🚖💛
Day 4 of #milliebotsbookchallenge : Favorite Reread. 👀 💫 White Oleander, and Dangerous Angels. I have reread these sooo many times, literally within the same week even! The corners are worn. White Oleander is written in way that draws me in every time. It’s not my favorite book and it’s flawed but I relate to a lot of the elements of Astrid’s character. I love the characters of the Weetzie Bat series, they feel like they’re my family and it’s comforting to read. *The White Oleander photo is not mine* I don’t have my copy at my apartment so I had to use one from the internet. My copy is from Goodwill. :)
Day 3 of #milliebotsbookchallenge : #bookmapping! This is a map in the book Poppy, a very unusual book. My first pet was a Betta fish I named Poppy, so I like the title ☺ @tylerscribble and I were reading it together last year, but I found it sad. I still want to finish it though. 🐭🌲🌿🌱🍃🌾🍂🍁🌌🌝
